For the Love of Type
For the Love of Type was a collaborative class project, where we analyzed the visual characteristics of our chosen type face and created unique spreads for our introductions and conclusions. While we had some leeway, our designs had to follow a grid system and all text beyond our chosen typeface was limited to the fonts our professor chose.

My chosen typeface was Giulia, a fun display typeface created from German type designer Hannes von Döhren. I wanted to lean into the informality of Giulia without making my spreads too busy, so I limited myself to shades of bright pink and only one type of graphic element.

For the rest of my spreads I decided to go simple and elegant, using wide margins, no color, and the fountain pen motif to create consistency that wouldn't clash with all the colors and styles of my classmates' work.
